Tim Burton-esque Pumpkin Skull | Halloween Ideas

If this seems hard, it's really easier that it looks. I only used 3 main facepaints in white, black and silver (also a bit of spirit gum to flatten my eyebrows but that's optional). 

For this costume I would wear all black or a cute black dress, if you are looking to save money!

Feeling Arty | Creative Makeup Look

Hi Everyone!

Some days I just sit down, not a clue and this happens. I am pretty happy with the final outcome, this can tend to go off in a weird way, a lot of the time a bit too directionless. But I am really enjoying playing with my airbrush machine.

I created my own stencil and airbrushed on all the colours as a base. The black is grease paint, blended with shadow as is the pattern above the eye. The other eye is some glitter and gem stickers I picked up in one of those cheapy, bargain shops. Huge tip, I always pick up random stuff like this (Hoarder), with nothing in mind other than I will probably use it for something.. and wayhey!

Simple enough product list, airbrush, grease paints and applique.

I am very much always inspired by art. Always trying to create something, do what makes you happy.

Marylin Manson | The Everyday Goth vs An Epic Halloween

I absolutely love crazy, character makeup. Personally I don't tend to listen to Marilyn Manson's music, don't get me wrong, I appreciate a few songs, like many. But I am super intrigued by interestingly, odd people. I recently read his autobiography which spared on this look! I give it a big thumbs up, because he is super artistic and intellectual. I am in favour of this man and others like him, do whatever you want, create art and be happy. (I would LOVE to be a makeup artist for someone like this).

If you would like to recreate this look for everyday, halloween or fancy dress, keep reading!

Firstly you want to cover your eyebrows, I used spirit gum because mine are particularly crazy and grow in every direction, but if you are looking a cheap easy way, non toxic glue sticks usually work! Powder after to take away stickiness.

All the white base and blue is done by airbrush, but you can easily opt for facepaint.

Lips are black eyeliner blended into Mac's Rebel (If its for halloween opt for anything cheap aka facepaints, eyeshadow etc, do not buy an expensive lipstick for one night! Though Rebel is awesome!)

For super quick easy 'chrome grillzz' use tin foil and just fold it to an appropriate size and push around your teeth.

One crazy contact is necessary to complete the look, his is usually white though. Also a black wig, or spray your hair black and slick it back in this fashion!

Quick fire casualty makeups | sfx makeup

I am no longer going to make promises on my blog, cause that ends in failure, I will always post and never abandon it, but I really struggle to find time at the moment, for instance working and uni over 2 weeks in a row no days off and have to fit uni work in to that aswell. I am even doing this post off my phone before uni, so if there are a mix of more simple posts that's why! Anyways this is just some bits I've did in class recently, bare in mind only had 10-15 mins to create concept, the piece and paint it! Kind of like quick fire casualty makeup!

Burnt fingers with latex, tissue, blood and grease paint.

Cuts made with silicone, blood and grease paint.

Obviously my fav #selfieeee haha

Dark Lips For Winter | Mac Rebel

My favourite makeup trend for winter is definitely dark lips! Probably brought into fashion mainstream by Rhianna, so many of us are jumping on the band wagon! Do be prepared for endless stares and total confusion from boys, but also lots of compliments from girls who actually get it the look haha! In the above pics I am wearing Rebel my Mac, a dark purple, as I am right infront of my window it does show up black (Lighting not great) but it's not as dark in reality. Topshop and Rimmel do cheaper options if you do not want to commit to the price of Mac especially if you are wary! 

Step outside your comfort zone and try the vamp look!

Crazy Goth/Witch/Demon | Halloween Makeup

Starting off my series of halloween looks with one that can basically go with a lot of ideas, witch, demon, goth, evil superhero (my favourite) and it isn't too unattractive, for the single girls haha. 

Pale out face, I used illamasqua rich liquid foundation in pure white, this is optional you could make it simple and just do the eyes. Then from here shade round eyes and out to temples with red, then blend the edges of that with an orange/yellow. Finally for eyes fill in the black smokey eye (gel eyeliner/black facepaint first and set with black eyeshadow), doing it in this order helps everything blend smoother, as if you started with black it would look mostly black and grey, the other colours wouldn't show. Messily draw lines on for viens, do not worry about being symmetrical as it adds to the effect! For black lips, you do not need to buy a black lipstick unless you want too but use gel eyeliner (or whatever you used for eyes) and set with black eyeshadow then apply some gloss! Not straight from wand or you'll ruin the applicator with the black!

Burns and Open Wound (Warning! Gory!) | Sfx Makeup

At the moment any SFX makeup I do is all self teaching, I have really no grasp of firm techniques yet (Start class in over a week!) I just try and recreate from my head and the small bits and pieces I have bought to practise with. For this I used latex and tissue, fake blood and a mehron bruise wheel. I am quite happy with the results and I usually when it scares my mum I know I'm somewhat on the right lines, haha!

I just got mugged | Special effects Makeup

Once again just playing around with some simple special effects techniques, especially because the more you practise and take photographs, the more you can pin point what looks realistic!

I am happy with the bust lip but as I look closely at the pictures I can see the latex around the cheekbone isn't as blended as I would like, but that's exactly my point on the importance of photographing yourself. What looks perfect in real life, may be picked up different in the light of a camera. If it doesn't work on camera then your skills are useless!

Fake blood (very little, as I went for more scabbed look, as if this was a couple of hours later)
